Ingredients
- 1 16-ounce can pork and beans (remove the “pork” and discard)
- 2 small golden delicious apples cored and cubed (other types of apples may be used, but will need to be peeled)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
Microwave
- Combine all ingredients in a 1-or 2-quart microwave-safe casserole dish.
- Microwave uncovered on high 4 minutes. Turn halfway and stir.
- Microwave on high another 4 minutes until the apples are tender and rise to the surface.
Stove
- Combine all ingredients in a 1-or 2-quart saucepan.
- Simmer until the apples are tender and rise to the surface. Stir occasionally.
- Serve hot as a vegetable with any meal.
