Saute another two minutes. While onions are cooking, combine the rest of the ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Stir the bean puree into the onions and bring to a low boil. Reduce heat and cook until thickened. Add more vegetable broth if a thinner consistency is desired.
